Due to weather concerns, the 91st Annual Meeting of the Stevens County Historical Society has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 24th, 2013. The times (12-3pm), menu (Comfort food soups, bread & pies) and the program presenters will remain the same.
After the social hour and meal, there will be a brief business meeting and then Ardath Larson & Carol Day, will be discussing the Ida Hancock journal project. Sharon Marquardt, one of the From Sheep to Shawl exhibit artists whose work is on display at the museum until February 28th is the featured program presenter. She will have a Powerpoint show and discuss the ancient craft of weighted warp loom weaving. She has also promised to bring antique Sami and West Coast woven coverlets as well as other antique Norwegian coverlets. It promises to be a great program. The cost for the meal is $10 and the museum asks that you RSVP for either the meal or program to 320-589-1719. You can also use the museum website contact form to RSVP virtually by clicking here.
